Our Mission

Contribute to solving public problems and positively influence their development

Our Tools

Our Goal

The letters PIQASO represent 6 steps in the problem-solving process: Problem, Information, Questions, Answers, Solution, Outcome. And using this model we try to carry out and complete 3 phases: see bigger picture; investigate what works; implementation.

The idea of the project is simple – during interactive presentation discuss innovations and move forward. One example of “moving forward“ – during the pandemic, we started studying the possibility to eliminate coronavirus with electric shocks, and few months later German scientists had confirmed that electric shocks work (spike protein is sensitive to the electric field). Of course, we are not the ones who discovered it first, but if several individuals can come up with a promising solution, what are we able to develop together during an interactive lecture with experts, students and engaged citizens? We believe that thanks to Solutions Journalism and Cognitive Surplus we can discover new ways of fixing our problems.

This is purely a non-profit project and the idea of finding solutions during an interactive presentation is based on hypothesis „when we see a bigger picture and what works, someone – doesn’t have to be scientist – can see something, understand and come up with the idea that will be a game-changer.“

The project is co-sponsored by the Fulbright Commission in Slovakia. Our special thanks go to New York University, Solutions Journalism Network and individual journalists as through their work we are able to better understand public problems and see information in proper context.
